The National Capital Model Soldier Society (NCMSS) is a membership supported club which provides the military miniatures hobbyist with a means to exchange ideas, information and reference materials. Located in and principally supporting hobbyists in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, NCMSS provides an opportunity for figure painters as well as collectors of miniature figures, toy soldiers, plastic models and militaria to meet socially and exhibit their work. We hold monthly meetings, sponsor regular painting clinics, publish a monthly newsletter and host a major annual regional military miniatures exhibition.
The NCMSS has been in existence for more than 45 years and is one of the premier military miniature clubs on the East Coast of the United States.
We still have figures from our 50th Annual show available for purchase. NCMSS commisioned Alan Ball to sculpt a figure of Col. George Washington, as he appeared in the Braddock Campaign to commemorate our 50th Washington Show. The pictures of the figure below were painted by club member Rhodes Davis for the kit's box art. The kit also includes a painting guide.
