Monthly Meetings

Monthly Meetings

The club generally meets on the 4th Wednesday of every month. We are currently meeting at the George Mason Regional Library. We have the meeting room from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

We start at 7:30 and close at 10:00 PM or sooner if we've covered all that needs to be covered. After a short business meeting, club members present their latest efforts, recent purchases, and/or other items of interest on the "Parade Ground" table. Presentations may be a verbal report on a show they attended, a piece of military gear, or a figure that is somewhere between "just got it" and "just finished". They informally tell the rest of the club about their project. Sometimes this starts lively discussions that continue during the remainder of our meeting. If you want to learn more about historical miniatures, there couldn't be a better place than the NCMSS free-for-all discussions that enhance our meetings. The club's motto is "To Honor History Through Art" and that's second nature to our members. It's just amazing how much history they know. Quarterly, the meeting hosts a flea market at which members can sell or trade items from their collections.

But it is not just historical miniatures that appear on the "Parade Ground" table. Several of our members are keenly interested in Fantast and Science Fiction, as well, and there are quite a number of unusual and fantastic figures from these genres. Size is no barrier either, as we also enjoy showing traditional gaming table size (25-32mm) as well as 200mm full figures and large busts.
